Best Essential Oils for Skincare

After struggling with acne-prone skin for most of my adult life, I understand how it feels when you don’t have healthy skin. Today I want to discuss the best essential oils for skincare, so no one ever has to feel broken-hearted because of skin related problems. There had been instances in my life where I was judged, looked over, and sidelined because of my skin. Being a TV Anchor in the past, having acne-prone skin adversely affected me mentally, emotionally, and professionally. I can never forget how once styling team of a channel I worked with had created separate kits for anchors with skin problems, which obviously is a sensible thing to do. But, they had left old and pokey brushes for people who already had skin problems. It was as if because one had skin issues, they don’t deserve good stuff as the other anchors did. You won’t get good shows and projects that inevitably affected your growth prospects in the business. So, trust me when I say that I understand how skin problems can adversely affect day to day life. I have always loved natural and herbal homemade skincare products until I came across Young Living Essential Oils. Today, I want to discuss the best essential oils for skincare.

How I Started Using Essential Oils for Skincare

I have been using essential oils for a long time, but the brands I used were mainly for diffusing and not oral application or consumption. It was after I was introduced to Young Living Essential Oils, which are 100% unadulterated and organic, my outlook on essential oils changed.

I was introduced to essential oils post-pregnancy. While breastfeeding, I was scared to use any artificial cosmetics. As a result, I ended up ignoring my skin for a long time. Moreover, post-pregnancy I observed unevenness, discoloring, and pigmentation on my skin. It bothered me to no limit. I have been using essential oils for skincare for almost two years now, and I have never been happier with my skin. It looks, feels, and smells great. My point of view on self-care has changed 180 degrees after using essential oils for skincare.

Why Young Living Essential Oils?

Despite skin being the largest organ in our body, we often ignore it. I have five reasons why I like using Young Living Essential Oils for skincare.

Firstly, Young Living Essential Oils are 100% organic and guarantee seed to seal purity.

Secondly, Young Living is the perfect blend of science and goodness of Ayurveda.

Thirdly, I would rather spend money on 100% natural products than on fancy cosmetic brands, where I don’t know what the real ingredients are. I like the transparency in the products that I use.

Fourth, essential oils are not makeup, they are nourishment for skin, body, and mind.

Fifth, the quality of Young Living has wowed me over and over again.

In no way, this is the debate between being a naturalist or undermine science. It is just about building a more holistic lifestyle. To live our lives so that we promote natural ways of boosting immunity, health, and beauty. If you are new to Young Living Essential Oil, I can help you get started with your specific needs and requirements. Young Living’s starter kit is quite a balanced way to begin your healthier and more holistic approach to life. Skincare with essential oils is all about fewer chemicals and more natural ways to nourish the skin.

Best Essential Oils for Skincare

Tea Tree

Tea Tree essential oil is the first one on my list because I struggled with acne. It is the best essential oil there is for acne-prone skin. It is an all-rounder oil. Tea Tree essential oil purifies, cleanses, nourishes, and reduced blemishes. It can also be used for spot treatment to reduce scars.

Frankincense

Frankincense is my go-to essential oil for skincare purposes. The ancient properties of frankincense in the beauty regimen needs no introduction. Frankincense helped to reduce blemishes on my skin and removed unevenness post-pregnancy. It gave me the much-needed nourishment that my skin needed post-pregnancy.

Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood

The world’s most premium brands use sandalwood as a critical ingredient in their beauty products. I prefer to use sandalwood’s goodness in its organic purity instead of using a chemical compound created in a lab. Why use man-made products, when you can use the god-made product in its complete natural glory. Use Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood essential oil for a natural glow.

Orange

Orange, in any form, is a blessing for skin. The vitamin C in an orange is excellent for exfoliating and cleansing the skin. It has anti-inflammatory properties and reduces wrinkles. It is excellent for people who suffer from acne. The fresh and citrus smell of orange leaves you feeling more confident and happier all day long. Orange essential oil is a must-have in the skincare kit; preventing premature aging in keeping skin healthy does all.

Myrrh

Myrrh is the perfect essential oil for people with dry skin or who tend to have dry skin during winters. It cleanses and moisturizes the skin in the most beautiful and aromatic way.

Lavender

No self-care or beauty regimen is complete without lavender essential oil. Lavender essential oil is synonymous with skincare. It cleanses and nourishes the skin. It is a staple in my nighttime skincare routine. Lavender essential oil even helps you sleep better.

Tips to Use Essential Oil for Skincare

One should know about their skin type before you use any essential oil.

Always use a carrier oil before applying essential oils on the skin. Unless the label says otherwise. For my face, I love to use organic almond oil as a carrier, and for the body, I either use olive oil or organic coconut oil.

If you are pregnant, always take doctor’s advice before using essential oils.

Skin problems can be due to hormonal imbalance, deficiencies, and many other reasons. I am not a doctor, and I am not trying to give any medical advice. I was lucky to find an impeccable dermatologist who was finally able to help me with my never-ending acne woes. But, even he told me to try to stay as natural as possible, and take care of your skin naturally. As I said, essential oils are not to eliminate science but to promote more mindful and healthy life practices. The recent times have further proven that mindful lifestyle is the way to go, be it face, body, or mind.
