Time is the Best Mother’s Day Gift

Spend More Time With My Mom

I am sure I am not the only one who has taken their moms for granted while growing up. But the beauty of the mother-child relationship is, “Moms don’t mind being taken for granted.” Now that I am a mom, I love, pamper, take care of my baby, and I will always be there for him, no matter what. Another realization, which has dawned upon me is “how precious is the time you spend with your little one.” This Mother’s Day, all I want for myself and gift my mom is more time. So, every second that I spend with him is a gift that I will cherish forever. This feeling takes me back to my childhood, how my brother and I were/are center of my mom’s universe and fantastic time spent with her. Time is the best mother’s day gift there is.

Reminicing Movie Dates for my Mom on Mother’s Day

I don’t know if I have done a lot of unique things for my mom, she is a better judge of it, but now when I look back, there is something I really miss. It was our movie dates. Just her and me, pick up a movie, watch it, grab a bite, shop a little and come back home. Nothing fancy just chill out time with her. There is nothing more I would want to on this Mother’s Day as well, considering we are on different continents right now. Fortunately, I was able to spend a lot of time after giving birth to my son. Thanks to my mom, I received the best postnatal care there is.

The memories and moments spent with her are something so special that I can’t express in words. I am happy I did that. Now, I am married and we are countries apart. Movie dates don’t happen, but video chatting does. She is my mom and she has seen me growing, now she is seeing my son grow up. It seems life has taken a full circle.

In all these years I don’t remember what gifts I gave her but I remember our picnics, our outings or just basking in sun on winter afternoon after school. If you are giving your time to someone you are giving a part of yourself to that person because time cannot be compensated. I am delighted that I shared my time with mom as much as I could and I still do. I wish if there is anything I could give her on Mother’s Day is – Spending a whole chillax day with her and going on a movie date.
